Barbadian-born jazz saxophonist Elan Trotman has made Boston his home away from home, but this world-renowned recording artist still has a place in his heart for his homeland Barbados. Elan is also the creator and host of the annual Barbados Jazz Excursion – A weekend island getaway with nightly concerts, golfing and land & sea excursions.

Elan has always had a strong passion for education, ever since being awarded a National Development Scholarship from the Barbados Ministry of Education in 1998. He went on to graduate from Berklee College of Music  with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education, and served as an elementary general music and band teacher in the Boston Public Schools for 10 years.

Now a full-time touring musician, Elan has shared the stage with some pretty impressive company that include Jeffrey Osborne, Roberta Flack, Johnny Gill, Will Downing, Sheila E, Jonathan Butler, Michael McDonald and Dave Koz to name a few.

Also an avid golfer, Elan participates annually in numerous celebrity charity golf outings for Ray Allen’s Ray of Hope Foundation , Jeffrey Osborne’s Celebrity Golf Classic, Hootie and the Blowfish Monday After The Masters, Tony Brothers Still Hope Foundation, Chris Tucker’s Charity Golf Tournament, and of course, his very own Never Lose Your Drive Foundation Golf Tournament which is held during the annual Barbados Jazz Excursion Weekend in Barbados.

Elan endorses Cannonball Saxophones – a partner and instrument donor for Headstart Music Barbados.
